Hi Kids! I have started up this website as a place whereby we can share on how we can be money smart as kids. I hope to have the book available to you by April this year. Those who are in Singapore will get a chance to see the book first!
As of today, I am 30 years old. Yes, I do seem quite old when compared to you. In fact, I may very well be twice your age! But I would like to think that I am still a kid in many ways, still learning and growing to be wiser and hopefully kinder as well.
As I looked back to the days when I was a kid just like you, I realised that I was not money smart. I never lack money as my father gave generously to me out of his love. And I was pretty foolish with the money that I get easily. I spent on things that I love such as computer games, books, comics and hobby kits. There was little thought on saving for my future. My money in my bank account was never much.
But I am glad that I have become money smarter than before. I did wish I had someone to guide me to be money smart as a kid so that I will be richer now and much more in the future. That caused me to think about kids like you now who are learning what to do with the money your parents placed into your hands. How much of it should you save? How should you spend such that you get the best out of it? And how to make your money that you have saved grow?
It took a small step for man to land upon the moon. It takes a little saving in the beginning for a kid like you to become rich as an adult.
Let me give you a glimpse of the book I have in store for you. It is a story about a brother and sister, Harry and Sally, who want to learn the secrets of becoming rich. In this book, I hope to share with you the secrets that I have learnt for the past few years and the help they have given to me.
Do look at the website regularly (once a month for now) for new stuff. If you do happen to read the book in the future, I would love to hear from you (discussion boards) about how the book is helping you to become money smart and be rich.
Be money smart and be rich!
Hi Kids! There is a saying “None of us is as smart as all of us.”* Therefore these discussion boards are for you to share with one another your money smart ideas. It is through sharing with one another that we can learn how we can be even more money smart than we are now. So go on and start adding to the discussion boards today!
